back from camp

yes! back from camp! there are some places in the world ppl seriously don't fit in. no matter how hard you try. this camp is one of them for me. maybe we're used to camp being the time to run around, pump around, play around and sing around the whole day. not the type eat then pray and sing then eat and listen to preachings and etc. yup. it's a church camp u see. and not very non-believer (me!) friendly lah. their prayers are really intense and the singing look more like a mega concert. in nicer words, an eye-opener.

some interesting stuff in camp:

- there is a poster in the girls toilet that says, "aim well". it's one of the 'keep the toliet clean' posters with a pic of urinal
- i was wondering about the kent ridge hostel, while waiting for a casualty to rest, when i spot a post-it note on a dorm door. "announcement. your neighbour downstairs (*name*) has just gotten attached" (spiteful msg?)
-kent ridge hostels are really close together. so you can really see the people in the opposite block working.
- the lights in the kitchen in the dorms are switched on 24/7. talk about saving the Earth.
- sitting cross-legged in jeans for a long period of time is one hell of a torturing experience.
- the price of extra value meals in mac in NUS is so cheap. i can buy a student meal with that price elsewhere. but the fries are really bad.
- bus drivers, who drives the NUS internal shuttle service, nv knew how to turn and speak to you.
me: does this bus go to mac at the engineering fac?
driver: mmph (and barely a nod)
another incident
me: does this bus go to kent ridge hostel
driver: mmph (again)
and the bus terminated at the bus terminal, which is a long walk from our destination (damn!)

i guess the ppl left the camp being spiritually refreshed. we left the camp feeling just plain empty. we're really there for all the wrong reasons. i do feel gulity that our grp tried so hard to make us participate more. but we just "blah" at everything.

things i hate to do after camp:
- make my way home with bloody heavy bags
- unpack my bag when i'm so tired
- bath. haha! lazy lah.
- eat. i need to get my schedule back. but i wanna sleep!
- use the leftover shampoo and soap from the small bottles. so little but not little enuff to wash it away
- smell the smelly clothes that has been rotting for 2-3 days. SJ camp is the worst.
- read the newspaper. i like reading the papers, but not so many days at one go.
- watch recorded shows. it's no fun liao.

things i like to do after camp:
- sleep! there's nothing better than sleeping on your own bed.
- bath. contridict the above but there's no where more convienent and comfortable to bath than in ur home toilet
- eat. contridict the top too. but this is after you sleep. had a great pigging out session in my cousins house later yest. fried chicken, curry, ice-cream cake, ice-cream popsicle, choc... all the junk in my body has been replenished. nahaha!
- brushing my teeth.
- sit on the sofa and read "Urban". my week is nv complete without it.
- cut my nails. they have grown so irritatingly long during camp.
- use the com and tv. (back to civilisation!)

haha! this entry is fun. oh yes...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JIA YAN!!
