soccer

gosh! so many things have happened over the past few days. it's a pity i can't write them down as soon as possible.

1. soccer finals!
2-0
could i be any happier? this has got to be the best reward u can get for all the blood, sweat and tears that we shed. (not really the blood, but the sweat, YES!) the minutes before the first goal was, argh!, killing. i swear deborah was digging her nails into my arms. (haha! jk!) but all was well once the ball rolled in. the sound of the final whistle (late!) was sweet too. and there was the usual rah-rah as we ran around, hug and cry and laugh. how many times can you do that in ur life? i think this experience will be my first and my last. =D
later, bi xia msged me, "congrats! elated?" *wide wide wide grin* OBVIOUSLY!

the proudest moment!

i luv the VJ crowd! though it's lik 10x smaller than the soccer guys finals, but hu cares. their 'VJ boleh!' is trillion times better than any other jc copycats.

salome! the cup is damn chio!

they say a picture speaks a thousand words. this picture can do trillions.

*muaks!*

thank you azrul!

and and mr lim and mr tang!

and all of you!

this has gotta be the start of something big. not just for VJSG but for the women soccer in s'pore as well. for one thing, we appeared in the papers (twice!) haha! forgive my bragging and let me bask in our glory for now. for us, it's the end of the beginning and the start of a legend.

"Victoria thy triumph seek and victories we share yet..." yes, yet....

oh btw, sometimes i can totally knock my head for having such a surname. gosh, my one and only chance of being famous and TEH newspaper happily mess it up. it's TEH not 'the'. hu TEH hell has a freaking stupid surname lik 'THE'. *smack forehead* but it's hilarious lah. i can be THE (something). lik THE GENIUS. nahaha!

2. soccer guys finals.

one word: AWESOME. the guys were wonderful, skills and teamwork and stamina and all. now that i can play (pretty much), the game seems so much more understandable. lik i can actually figure out wad's their formation and how they build up their attack. pretty much so coz we play like them. but women soccer is nothing close to the pace, physical demands etc of the men's. sigh, blame it on a genetic disadvantage.

the crowd was absolutely awesome too. i dream of the day when our finals can be as grand as them. the cheering was so much fun. how victorians can rally together to cheer and sing is amazing. the crowd for the s-league matches is more of visitors to a cemetary compared to us! for once u juz have to forgive the groupies that were screaming and shrieking their hearts out for that particular one or two players. the more noise the better. and though 'mj boleh' was louder and not-so-out-of tune as compared to tj, no one, absolutely no one, does it better than VJ. VJ boleh! one more point: the Red Shirts this year sucks. period.

in your face mj! so wad if you ppl keep insisting that the goals were lucky? if all goals in the world were fabulous then there will be no such thing as a fabulous goal eva. and wad's with the fake cramps? and two at the same time summore. FAKERS! if i didn't know those two since sec sch then i would not have cared so much. but they are such a butch of suckers eva since sec.1. so you think u can delay time huh? i bet the referee also knew you were damn fake coz he was dragging your sorry asses up so that the game can resume. if you can't bloody out run, out play and out win the guys, then you shld go home and fly some kite!

this is it. starting with the last training which ends in a horrendous downpour, to OUR FINALS, to the biggest finals of the yr. also adding in the occational strong, strong urge to wring the necks of ms lui and mrs chan for coming in late, drag lessons and killing us with boredom (come on lah! don tell me they aren't bored when they rest their head on their hand/arms when they teach. and this term, especially this week, is no meant for studying!) it has been a roller coaster of motion, emotion and non-stop action. i had the time of my life.

Green day - Time of your life

Another turning point,
A fork stuck in the road.
Time grabs you by the wrist,
Directs you where to go.
So make the best of this test,
And don ask why.
It's not a question
But a lesson learned in time.

It's something unpredictable,
But in the end is right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs
And still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf of good health and good times
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial.
For what it's worth
It was worth all the while.

man, i realise that every single line means something to me. *sigh* it's something unpredictable but in the end is right, i hope you had the time of your life...
