"what if"
life is filled with "what if"; as many or maybe more than the choices we make. coz sometimes we make one decision from more than 2 choices. yup, what if i have choosen that? what if i've done that? what if i could do that? what difference would it make? well, straight from post-prelim paper analysis: what if i had not made such a mistake/choose the other qn? i could have come up a grade!
what if u had a chance to do anything u want now? there is no commitment (eg study, future), no worry whether u'll have or u need money, no bond, no need to worry bout family or safety. what would u wanna do now? it's a qn not for the mind, but for the heart. i've been asking this qn to quite a few ppl around me. ya noe, good topic to chat bout during a boring lecture or on the way home. sonia said she will still be a doctor - righteous. helena said that she'll travel the world - carefree. some thing i would like to do too. xuan yi said that she wans a family - awww! her hen party is on the way and u're all invited, coz i'm planning it! wahaha!
i would like to be a bartender. i had that kinda stupid dream since sec 3. read the bartender section in the career guide with much interest le! till ms. ow told me, "with ur kind of education, u shld not aim to be a bartender only. but aim much high and work from there onward." exact words, i promise. i still had that dream though. or i can be a chef and throw away all my scientific knowledge. (i can hear my mom giving her "why are u aiming for business when u study so well for sci" speech) maybe i'll just settle for throwing dinner parties for family and friends. and u're all invited, coz i'm planning it again! wahaha! *clap clap clap*
my brother wans to be a farmer. now, that's creative. some people just wanna get rich. that, i guess, is very practical too. money can't but everything, but it sure can try! being famous should be fun too. u get paid (a lot) for being yourself, is there a better deal?
well "what if"s exist because we can't have everything but we have limitless imagination. i guess i'll just have to be contented with that. after all, only in ur dreams can there be no commitment, no boundary and no need for money. welcome back to earth.
well, what if the "A" level is over now? what would i wanna do?!! i wan to unwind at a beach resort. good, clean, no-frill. other than that, work! forget bout the study is better than working life crap. enough of books means enough. it's a bloody two years sprint. i wanna be a waitress, or a gift wrapper, or a cook (which is quite far-fetch) "u''re weird!", that's the general response. but i reckon i'll do something i might not do in the future and i'll not be afriad to toil coz it's not a very long time. yeah man! i'm so excited now. can't wait!
1 more month to the real thing. 28 days to be exact. the time during the A level doen't count coz no one can study much anyway. so i'm that close to freedom but that far. sigh sigh...
