dan bai!

i'm back from sports camp. it was a total blast! vanessa was right, i have to record everything down coz i'm sure i'll forget something after a week.

day 1:
we met at JP at bout 3 plus for dinner. the group has met for camp briefing and banner painting on sat and sun but there was still some ackwardness around. but things are bout to change. everyone tot it was quite funny that winnie and jiayi brought huge luggages to camp, and crystal packed everything into a normal tote bag. there was the opening ceremony in the evening and we played some world/universe games in the hall after that. the highlight of the day was 'the great wall of china'. guys from the defending group will lock arms and legs and sit n a circle facing the outside, while the girls will stand in the inside of the circle. then the girls from the attacking group will surround the circle. on go, the attacker will attempt to pry open any of the interlocking hands and legs while the defending group has to hold the fort. oh man, no one will ever see any other groups of girls who are that vicious and crazy. it's like a major cat fight with all the pulling, pushing, tugging and shouting. but it was a great way to bond the whole world together. and if there is a chance of any girls from SU14 getting jumped at on the streets, that idoit is in for serious trouble. =D btw, it was four by the time we settle down for the day.
day 2:
winnie was my bathing buddy so we got up very early to use the empty toilet. as usual, i couldn't sleep on the 1st nite of any camp. there was field games which was very fun. my knee suffered a hard knock by a soccer ball in the captain ball-soccer station and started bleeding like no one's business. stupid injury.
it was pool games in the afternoon. i couldn't play coz the medic thinks that i'll infect everyone with my injury. so i just stood there and take pics. there was a world game to end off the whole thing and disney managed an impressive comeback from 4th to 2nd.
then it was fright nite! i love fright nite just as much as SJ night games. i was very impressed with the plot, the acting, the props and all the scary stuff that they can think of. SJ night games is nothing compared to su14 fright night. well, it was quite embarassing to say that i screamed the loudest and most frequetly throughout the nite. but it's all in the name of fun! yuan sheng was my partner so i was grabbing his hand and walking behind him so that things that jump out don scare the shit out of me. there was one station which really scared me. we were supposed to enter 5 diff tutorial room in pairs and look for a candle/lighter. the room that we entered was pitch black and while we were searching we heard a sound in the middle of the room. then against the faint light from the window, we saw a person rising. there was another person from the side. then both sorta pounced on us and screamed at us. wah, that time i was too surprised to scream at all. really good stuff there, those programmers deserve credit.

day 3:
sea exprerience! we did canoeing and dragonboating at the marina bay area. it was really fun to canoe pass buildings and under bridges while battling the heavy rain and strong wind. i'm just glad i did not get seasick. for the 2nd half, we tried wind-surfing, banana boat (twice!), jet-ski and knee-boarding at the cable 360. knee boarding is very tiring; i could not pull myself pass three-quarter of the course, but it was an interesting experience. i was quite worried that my injury will open when it brushes agaisnt sand and stuff, then it will get infected. lucky it didn't. but some of us did had some form of injury after that day.
we played night games after returning to ntu. nothing very exciting; fun all the same. =D

day 4:
nature experience! i quite like hiking coz there is lotsa fast walking, which i can do for a long time. =D our route was quite long and the hardest part was climbing the steep stairs to the summit. we're lucky the weather was cooling coz of the rain. there was a part where we had to walk along those huge white pipes, slide down and climb up on the other side of the spikes, i'm surprised that it was actually do-able.
after that it was quite a long wait for all the teams to arrive before we could start the amazing race. i guess it's the biggest event throughout the whole camp. we were flagged off at macritchie and went to places like toa payoh and amk. i'm like a total noob to these places so it was just blindly running after the leader. one of the stops was prawn fishing at farmart at choa chu kang; we caught no prawns though. sad! the pit stop for the night was at the sembawang park where we had a bbq dinner. that's when the guys from my group started spamming cold jokes. damn hilarious la! my feet was beyond lan4 coz of all the rain and mud from the hike. we had the longest time to sleep that nite - 4 hours. haha!

day 5:
it was the amazing race again. we managed to get the earliest time slot. but there was the task to clear 2 loaves of bread with some random sauce. we had ketchup and soy sauce, yucks man! yup, then it was off to places like yishun safra club, yew tee and other places in the north. we were running from the start and so when 10 plus sweaty and smelling ppl enter a train during rush hour, i felt quite pitiful for the unlucky commuters. the guys in my group had a street directory for meals or something coz we were able to find our way around very well. lunch at maxwell was interesting though, we were supposed to get 3 rice dishes, 3 noodles dishes, 3 porridge dishes and 1 random dish as part of the task. that was the best meal ever lo! then it was off to east coast food village, a place that i knew very well! so it was easy peasy to get there. but it was quite tiring to find the stations there. then it was the mad dash to the finish line. my right calf was quite painful so i kinda slowed the group down =(. eeyore clinched 1st place though =D.
the day was only half way though. after a long rest, dinner and powdering our feets for countless times, we finally move off to play a world game. the candle game was quite confusing to understand, plus we were very tired liao. wah all our feet was drenched in mud again, but the socks and shoes were never completely dry anyway. hai, disney lost by a bit only. these world games are very massive and interesting, so i'm quite impressed by the ppl who came up with these ideas. i'm sure these games will not be approved by teachers in sec sch/jc, coz we broke every aspect of safety measures lo.
then it was night cycling, which i was quite looking forward to. to keep us entertained, the guys in eeyore were spamming pick-up lines. how cute rite! we cycled all the way from east coast to ntu. it was quite a relaxing ride. but the last part was cycling pass the factories and deserted areas so i got very tired and sleepy. i was so scared that i'll fall asleep, which will be very dangerous. that night we slept less than an hour. till now, i'm not sure how the hell we survived all those vigourous activities with so little sleep. i was totally stuggling to stay awake during sec4 SJ camp lo. must be coz we were always moving and feeling high.

day 6:
it was a relaxing day with the group trying out various sports in school. there was archery, floorball, fencing, underwater hockey, scuba diving, handball, 'hockey-on-skates' (i donno the name). i'm starting to like floorball a lot. hmm.... maybe it'll the cca for me. wah i'm so going against my plans to slack off in uni.
ok next was sp which wasn't exactly exciting or interesting. my sp was ok and conversation topics were fine too. credit must be given to the programmers again lo. they had the whole of the southern tip of sentosa booked and the buffet was gd. the last part was dancing on the beach. wah my group totally pangsai our sp and danced in our group. super high sia.
on our way home a lorry knocked onto our bus, i think the lorry driver was drunk or something. but then we all have to get down to wait for the backup bus. so for bout half an hour, 20 plus ppl was left sleeping on the streets in the middle of nowhere.

day7:
last day! and wad better way to end it off with a gaudlet (wadeva you spell that). i didn't participate in the actual thing but i gotta run along with the group and encourage them. there is a wan li chang chen in ntu too! how amusing. it'll be like ahs all over again. after all of us cross the finish line, we got very high and started cheering like mad. then there was a sad sad moment where we got to sit down and think bout the past 7 days. i tot i would not cry for i've been through more emotional moments, but the tears still came. i guess they're for the memories.

i'm glad i was part of this camp for no other camp would rock as much as this. i'm seriously serious. and eeyore might just as well be one of the best group i've ever been part of.

pics!
