Marvel at the parallel
it's 2009. the recurring reminder that we're all growing up is when the 21st birthday invites keep coming in. the big parties, cakes and presents are always around to tell us that we're all leaving our growing years and going into adulthood.
they all say the same thing: cherish your growing years for they'll flash by before you know it, live without regret blah blah. however, all it takes for us to realise that life is so much more fragile and not to take things for granted is when we witness a friend's loss of a loved one.
there's no fussing over dates, other commitments, purchasing decisions etc. just be there. frankly, i never thought that it could hit so fast. it's usually my mom that goes for such events. perhaps that's y we showed signs that we're unsure of the practices when we're there. such is the rarity of such events for us now. and such is the childish thought that such things can never happen.
Life. when will we begin to understand the fagility of it. no matter how different we want ourselves and our lives to be from others, we're still the same deep down. death has this power to bring people together, just like how birthdays can too. Marvel at the parallel. when death gets someone, it misses someone else. and the moment you realise that, then you'll learn to appreciate your loved ones.
Take care my fren =)
