no stress no stress no stress
I tot this was amazing:
"Manhattanhenge (sometimes referred to as Manhattan Solstice) is a biannual occurrence in which the setting sun aligns with the east-west streets of Manhattan's main street grid. The term is derived from Stonehenge, at which the sun aligns with the stones on the solstices. It applies to those streets that follow the Commisions' Plan of 1811, which laid out a grid offset 28.9 degrees from true east-west.
At sunset, a traveler along one of the north-south avenues on the West Side looking east can observe the phenomenon indirectly, being struck by the reflected light of the many windows which are aligned with the grid. An observer on the East Side can look west and see the Sun shining down a canyon-like street. "if there is one skill that i have yet to master after so many years, it would be waking up fresh and alert any time before 10am. no matter how early i sleep, i'll always literally have to drag my sorry ass out of bed every morning to go to school or work and i'll hate my life for that 10min or so coz i'll do anything to go back to sleep.
but to make up for it, i've managed to master another skill: waking up coz i somewhat heard the phone ringing and answering the phone as alert as i would be if i was awake. i think i first started picking up this skill from St John. all the midnight firedrills, triages and what not during camps can bring u from dreamland to complete alertness in like 5 sec flat. and then it was hostel life. with my waking hours mostly starting at mid-day and ending at 3-4am, i've also learn to answer phonecalls from proj mates or working adults calling for internship interviews with my half my brain trying to recall infomation at fantastic rate and the other half cursing the caller for rousing me from my sleep. and now there is this job of mine that starts at 7am for morning shifts and ends at 11pm for afternoon shift. so if there's urgent matters that require the person in morning shift to call the person in previous afternoon shift, Ta Dah!!! another test of recalling infomation and restraining myself from scolding bad words.
i think it's a damn zai skill. so useful. haha!!
